Build a Birthday

Need a birthday card on the quick?  This cutie in notecard size (3-1/2" x 5") is a perfect choice. 

Cut your card stock to size.
Stamp from the bottom up in your favorite 5 colors.  Here I used the yummy In-Color Collection for 2015-2016.

Assemble with a bit of baker's twine if you wish.

Even the envelope was easy to make, using In Color Envelope Paper (new this catalog) and the Envelope Punch Board.

Address it, stamp it, mail it.  Sure to please!

After a 6 month hiatus, I think I am ready to start blogging again.  Mind you I have not been a slacker during this time, but sometimes what we plan gets interrupted with more immediate needs.  There have been highs, there have been lows.  But through it all, we have hope because Christ Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

Today's card uses a favorite new stamp set from the 2015 Occasions Catalog  "Sheltering Tree".
Easy, versatile, truly a stamp set for all seasons.

Here I have created a quick and easy 1 layer card using the first 2 techniques I ever learned:  heat embossing and sponging.    I love the look.

It has snowed here 2 of the last 3 days.  Both times friends have come to help dig us out.  What's been happening in your neck of the woods?

SASSY SALUTATIONS meets NEED FOR SPEED

With 9 grandsons and plenty of young boys at church who keep having birthdays, there is always a  need for quick and easy cards at our house.  Today's card uses both current and retired stamp sets; and like yesterday's, is single layer and water-colored. 

To make this card, I used Note Cards & Envelopes; Sassy Salutations, Gorgeous Grunge, Need for Speed (ret.) stamp sets; Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, Real Red classic ink pads; Stazon Jet Black ink pad; Blender Pens (to add layers of color on the car).

Storybook Friends notecard

It has been a long and challenging few months that kept me from posting any of my cards.  But I am feeling better and am getting a better handle on my new computer.  Though I still am not skilled with the photo taking and editing, I want to get back to sharing with you some of the joy of stamping on a regular basis.

During my absence from blogging, I have really taken a liking to simple, quick and easy cards.  Stampin' Up! Note Cards  & Envelopes (131527) are ideal for this technique.   Such as in this card for today:

I love this little dog from the Storybook Friends set.  Stamped in black, and color-highlighted with ink color of your choosing and blender pens, you can whip out a whole set to have on hand for all sorts of occasions in a short amount of time.

Note Cards come 20 to a package, with 20 envelopes to boot.  Though somewhat smaller than an A2 card, they do not require additional postage, and are a real bargain at only  $5.95 a package.  I highly recommend them!

BY THE TIDE

Here in the Midwest, like much of the country, we are in the midst of a massive winter storm; another is expected in just a few days; with a possible 3rd one on its heels. Schools closed, businesses are letting people go home early, and so we hunker down to weather it out. (pun intended!)

Meanwhile it is a perfect time to whip up some hot cocoa and spend a little time downstairs in the craft room.  Today's card looks forward to the milder conditions of June and Father's Day.

It's a pretty straight-forward card, nice and easy, so I will just list the supplies I used:

stamps:  By the Tide, Teeny Tiny Wishes
ink:  Basic Gray
cs:  Very Vanilla, Basic Black
etc:  1-1/4" & 1-3/8" square punches, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail adhesive

Time to check what on what's happening outside and get some more cocoa.
