BUILD A BLOSSOM X3

As we come to the end of the Stampin' Up! catalog year, we face saying good-bye to many products we have come to love.  For the next month, quite a few of them will be featured in the cards that I make. Look for the * next to those products that will soon no longer be available.

Each of today's card make use of both the Blossom Builder punch and the Build a Blossom stamp set.   Don't you love it when you can use your supplies and tools in more than one way!

Of course, you can make flowers:
To make this card, you will also need:  *Made for You (sentiment);  *Baja Breeze, *More Mustard (I know, I know in my picture it looks like Pumpkin Pie but it's not), Chocolate Chip and Whisper White card stock, along with *Baja Breeze, *More Mustard, and Wild Wasabi classic stampin' pads; *Fan Fair designer series paper; 2-3/8" Scallop, 1-3/8 " and 3/4" Circle punches,  and Large Oval punch; *Baja Breeze seam binding; Rhinestone jewels; Snail adhesive and Stampin' dimensionals.

Or you could make, fish:
The green here is *Lucky Limeade, used for a mat as well as the plants (*Just Believe stamp set); Baja Breeze was sponged on to create the water.  The sentiment is from *Curly Cute set and is heat embossed.
Gills are hand drawn using a Pumpkin Pie stampin' write marker.

Or how about birthday candles:
Again I used *Curly Cute for the sentiment, this time on a Real Red card stock base.  All the designer series paper came from the *Summer Smooches pack.  A little bling was added:  *Metallics 3/16" brads and  Dazzling Details on the flames.

You can get these and other great products at my website.  But don't wait too long; while retired stamp sets are expected to be available through May 31, retired inks and papers are available only while supplies last.

WHALE, WHALE

One of the cutest stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s Spring Catalog is the "Oh, Whale".  Its punny expressions make it a great go-to set for newcomers to the neighborhood ("Whalecome!"), under the weather ("Get whale soon."), Valentine 's Day ("Whale you be mine?") and gratitude ("Thanks a ton!")

It is also great for baby cards.
Cute, huh?
One of things I enjoy about Stampin' Up! is the availability of products designed to work together to make crafting cards easy and fun. A Big Shot and the Happy Whale Clearlits™  die make cutting out the whale, spray and fish a breeze.  The background in the bottom card is a bit of Sunshine &Sprinkles designer series paper.

Other supplies and tools needed to make these 3 cards:
stamps:  Sweet Essentials, Cuddles & Kisses (inside wording)
card stock:  Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Whisper White
classic ink pads:  Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Bashful Blue, Midnight Muse, Pacific Point Basic Gray
tools etc. :  Cloudy Day embossing folder, 1" Circle punch, Basic Black marker, stampin' dimensionals

Hope you have a whale of a good day!
Trish

BRING COLOR to YOUR AREA

No matter how spacious or compact your stamping area is, a bit of color makes it even more inviting.  Like many of you, I store a lot of supplies in plastic stacking drawers.  Useful, yes; but let's face it -- plain and BORING! I spent some time recently, sprucing up my cases with some Designer Series Paper, and I must say I love the results!

Two things make this really work --
1.  Color Blocking- rather than random scattering of various colors and patterns (like a kaleidoscope),  grouping similar colors together in blocks (like a quilt) makes for colorful harmony.

2. Labels, so I know what's inside!

Hope you feel inspired to bring some color to your space; I would enjoy seeing your latest project.

Happy stampin'!
Trish

APRIL CLUB CARDS

I do so love getting together with the gals in my stamping club.  We call it "Cheaper than Therapy".  And it really is!  In addition to getting to make great cards and test out new products, it's the friend connection that we value the most.  Many of us did not know each other before this club formed; but our stamping experiences are drawn us close and we can't think of any place else we would rather be on the second Friday of the month.

Here are the cards we made last night:

This sweet little bunny was done up with a variety of punches.  Can you identify which ones?  The expression is from Sweet Essentials set; the background is from the Brights DSP pack.

Swallowtail is a single stamp set that really fills the bill for something stunning.  The ladies learned how to make hybrid embossing powder to create both color and sparkle (my photo doesn't show this well at all, but in reality the image is a glittery delight!)  Here's how you do it:  in a small container, mix equal parts of colored embossing powder -here Pool Party was used - with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Stamp the image with Versamark ink, then sprinkle on the hybrid mix, hit it with the heat tool to melt and VOILA! Beautiful.
Just for fun, we made this single layer, clean and simple card using the banner image from new Designer Typeset photopolymer stamp set.  Wow! these new stamps are the bomb!  Super stick quality keeps them tight on the clear mount, through all your stamping and cleaning.  I am sold!  The colors on this cards are just so happy, I can't help but smile when I see them together:  Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo.  The sentiment is from the You're Amazing set.

Visit my website to order these and other great products.  If you are interested in forming a club, contact me and let's see what we can work up.

Happy stampin' -- happy weekend!
Trish
