APRIL PAPER PUMPKIN

Each month, a new Paper Pumpkin kit is delivered to my mailbox.  Never knowing what kind of crafting is hidden inside is part of the fun.  April's box held all the makings for a framed art piece, perfect for gift giving.  My Paper Pumpkin Pals group and I wanted to do something a little different from the suggested layout; each of us came up with a slightly different design. I love that kind of creative freedom!  The above is my take, using some stamps in my retired stash, as well as sponging and dimensionals to give it more depth.

The Paper Pumpkin kits just keep getting better and better. The kit for May called "Hey Man!" has arrived, but I am resisting the urge to dive into it until my Pals come next weekend.  However, my sister took a peek into her box and said that it is cards.  Should be lots of fun.

WooHoo! alert!!!

Keep it Balanced

Hi Stampers!

Do you ever have times where you make a card, it looks okay, but you know it could be better.  Yet you aren't quite sure what it needs.  That was my experience with my last post.

The card hung on my magnet board for a couple of weeks. I liked the colors well enough, but there was just something that wasn't quite right.

While prepping for my club to teach them the techniques involved, it finally dawned on me -- the card was out of balance, with too much negative space.  Thankfully it was a quick and easy fix.

Ah, now that's better, don't you think?
My club members agree that the longer flower image works ever so much better here.

Notice the double sponging around the flowers?  I love this technique of sponging first one color all around, then a second over it.  Here we used Daffodil Delight followed by Calypso Coral.

Happy stampin'!

NOT JUST FOR EASTER

Love how this turned out.  On Friday my club will be making this and two other cards, creating our own designer paper, celebrating the close of yet another year of stamping together, and looking with anticipation as to what will be featured in the new annual catalog which will go live on June 1.

FEEL BETTER

There are some things about spring I detest.  Dethatching the lawn with a hand rake ranks right up at the top of my list.

While a bandaid will not help my aching back , this easy-to-do card is just the prescription for a quick card for someone who needs a bit of a lift.

It's A-2, lots of straight cuts, 2 punched hearts, a little sponging and stamping,  a personal message inside and off to the mailbox you go!

Sassy Salutations set; Fresh Retro DSP; Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Canteloupe, Very Vanilla CS; Pumpkin Pie ink

Have a great weekend!

FLY, BUTTERFLY

Using just your scraps, there are endless color combinations for this clean, simple design.
Stamp, punch, adhere.  Add a dry embossed background mat if you like, and a happy sentiment and you are done, as quick as can be.

Papillion Potpourri set works beautifully with the Elegant Butterfly punch (they were made for each other!). I never tire of the Yippee- Skippee set, either.

May all your moments be happy ones!
